Sweat is normal. Under braids, locs, wigs, or a sew-in, it can mix with oil, gel, and other products near the roots. Keep your gym-day scalp routine simple so you do not add more layers.
Before your workout
Use a loose, breathable headband if you need one. Avoid bands that press on your temples. Put long braids or locs up without pulling the edges tight.
Right after your workout
Remove hats, scarves, and wigs when you can. Blot visible part lines with a clean, soft towel. Do not scrub or scratch.
Let the base dry
Give air time to reach your scalp before you cover it again. Use a cool fan setting if helpful. Avoid strong heat, and do not put a wig or bonnet over a damp base.
Use less product
Do not cover sweat with a thick coat of oil or fragrance. If you use a scalp product, apply only a small amount to an area you can reach. Follow the label.
Know when a full wash makes more sense
A quick blot is not a wash. If the roots feel sticky, smell strong, or stay damp, plan a proper cleanup instead of adding another product layer. Make sure the hair and scalp dry fully afterward.
Adjust for your style
For limited access, read how to reach your scalp under a sew-in. If products keep building up, review signs your scalp routine has too many layers.
An optional fresh finish after wash day
VELVET CLEAN™ Scent Mist adds a light scent after the main scalp-care steps. It does not replace cleansing or moisture, so use it only after your planned routine and follow the label.
Stop and remove the style if pain, burning, open skin, or worsening irritation develops. Speak with a licensed professional about symptoms that last or get worse.
